The 3rd edition of the Everything Vincy was hosted by Invest SVG and it started on Thursday 24th October 2019 at the old Geest Shed.

The opening remarks were delivered the chairman of the Board of Directors of Invest SVG Anthony Regisford. He noted, with great delight, that the number of participants had grown larger compared to what it used to be. Last year was 40 participants but this year is 145. That was a signal – according to the chairman – that Invest SVG is getting bigger and better.

The chairman put it like this :” It is our hope at Invest SVG that by affording producers this opportunity, we are able to increase their business, increase trade, help them to grow their business, and by doing so, create more employment and have a positive impact on the development of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.”

Regisford went on to project that Invest SVG will be host an investment forum, in May 2020. The aim will be to attract high network individuals whose influence and business network will help underscore the idea that SVG is a great place to invest.

Gail Gallop who represented the Caribbean Export Development Agency  said that her agency is mandated to, among other things, improve healthy competition at the regional level, as well as small and medium-size enterprises; enhance trade and development among the members of CARIFORUM; as well as to promote stronger trade and investment between CARICOM and the Dominican Republic.

Gallop posits that Vincy Expo is geared towards establishing linkages and export of local products and services to the international community. “Caribbean Export is proud to work with Invest SVG in getting the job done, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth of this Expo,” Gallop posited.

Annette Mark who is the Executive Director of Invest SVG was elated by the acceptance that Expo is getting. He puts it like this “We are extremely proud of the growing success of this event, the continued support of the private sector, and the added backing of the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. ”

She said that the Expo has been getting a lot of support from different corners of the world despite the fact that it designed to advertise Vincentian products to the world. There were participants from Barbados, Guyana, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago etc.

Mark revealed that Invest SVG will lead a delegation to the World Economic Expo in Dubai in 2020. She was effusive in her words of gratitude and praise for the sponsors and, the staff at SVG, participants and the general public.

The Minister of Tourism Cecil McKie was quick to highlight the merits of Expo and its positive impact on the economy of SVG.

Prime Minister  Ralph Gonsalves pointed out that Invest SVG germane to efforts being made at bringing investment to SVG. He felicitated with the participants.

The opening ceremony was made colourful and eventful by performances from Cantemus, Saeed Bowman, SVG 2019 Carifesta team and Kenneth ‘Vibrating Scakes’ Alleyne etc

The “Everything Vincy Expo 2019” had a lot of products and services from various sectors SVG economy, including agro-processing, manufacturing, services, ICT and the creative industry.
